If you ask Haidar Ghozali how he got into property, it won’t sound like a perfectly planned career move.
At 21, he bought his first home and quickly became curious about how it all worked. That curiosity turned into a genuine interest in understanding the bigger picture. How people build portfolios, how decisions are made, and what drives long-term success.
“I just wanted to learn everything,” he says.
“What makes a good decision, how people grow wealth through property, how it all fits together.”
Over time, that interest became more than just a personal pursuit. It shaped how he sees property today. Not just as a financial tool, but as something deeply personal.
“For some people, it’s purely an investment. For others, it’s about security or creating a future. Everyone approaches it differently.”
That perspective now sits at the centre of how Haidar works with clients.
Outside of property, he has always been drawn to environments that demand discipline. He plays soccer at a semi-professional level, something he credits with building resilience and a strong team mindset.
“You learn how to handle pressure and keep moving forward, and you realise pretty quickly that nothing worthwhile happens without consistency.”
Those lessons carried into his early career in real estate sales, where he worked with a broad range of clients. From first homebuyers to experienced investors, he gained a clear understanding of how different people approach one of the biggest purchase decisions.
“You start to pick up on what matters to people. Not just what they’re buying, but why.”
When he’s not helping clients, he’s helping his long-term partner run the business they started together De Honey Charcoal Grill which boasts three locations across Perth. Haidar says the experience gives him a greater understanding of what new investors are seeking, as he’s on his own wealth journey alongside them.
“It teaches you resilience. You work things out as you go and you keep showing up, even when it’s not easy.”
For Haidar, that same mindset applies to property.
“Building a portfolio takes time. It’s not something that happens overnight, but if you stay consistent, it starts to build.”
What makes his journey different is how he came to join Momentum Wealth. His first experience with the business was not as an employee, but as a client.
For more than two years, he went through the process himself, working through strategy and seeing how each part of the journey connects.
“You realise it’s not just one moment or one decision. It’s how everything works together over time.”
That experience still shapes how he works today.
“I remember what it felt like at the start. There’s always some uncertainty, and it’s easy to overthink things.”
Now, as a Property Acquisition Specialist, his focus is on simplifying that process and helping clients move forward with clarity.
“Everyone’s situation is different. Some people want to build something big, others just want stability. It comes back to understanding what matters to them.”
For Haidar, joining Momentum Wealth felt like a natural next step. It brought together his personal experience, professional background, and interest in helping others navigate the same journey.
When it comes to advice, he keeps it simple.
“Take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It’s easy to get caught up in the short term, but property is a long-term game.”
“It might feel uncomfortable at the start, but that’s normal. Most of the time, taking that first step is the hardest part.”
And in his experience, it’s also the most worthwhile.
